Healthy Trails is a fitness challenge for people of all ages and skill levels. The program challenges people to walk, roll, ride or run at least 5 of the 21 featured Santa Clara County Park trails contained in a trails guidebook. Registered participants have 12 months in which to complete the fitness challenge. The trails guidebook will include a log that participants use to record the trails and miles they've traveled. The log is then returned to the Santa Clara County Parks Department and a completion reward will be issued. The guidebook will also contain tips on nutrition, physical activity and safe play in regional parks.
A promotional brochure, with registration form, is available and will describe the Healthy Trails program and how the challenge works. Interested persons can register for Healthy Trails in person at the County Parks Administration Office, by fax, mail, telephone or on-line. Also, VTA's extensive network of local bus routes make it easy for you to get to these Santa Clara County Parks.
Healthy Trails is presented by the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department and is free to the public because of the generous support of the following partners, Kaiser Permanente San Jose, the Santa Clara County Public Health Department - Nutrition and Wellness and Steps to a Healthier Santa Clara County.
