Celebration of Russian Arts – March 6, 2010

Featuring local sensation Slavyanka with special guest Kostroma of Russian House Kedry

A fundraising event hosted by the County of Santa Clara Moscow Sister County Commission

The Slavyanka Russian Chorus presents a cappella concerts using a repertoire drawn from Russian sources: Orthodox liturgical, Russian and other Slavic folk and composed music. Compositions feature Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, and a host of other purveyors of the Slavic soul in song. Slavyanka has made seven recordings and has appeared in or contributed to the score of two movies, “Little Odessa” and “What Dreams May Come.”

Special guest vocal group Kostroma with the Russian House Kedry showcases authentic vocals, lively performance style, and authentic colorful costumes provide a unique opportunity to experience a true Russian cultural experience.
